Which pages does a business website need?

A simple list so you don’t miss what matters or pay for pages nobody will read.

The essential pages

Home

Says what you do, who it’s for and what to do next. It doesn’t have to explain everything: it has to send each person to the right place.

Services

If you offer several services, give each its own page. You can explain it properly and show up when someone searches for it on Google.

Work or case studies

Show real examples: what the client asked for, what you did and how it turned out. One good case convinces more than a paragraph about your experience.

About

People want to know who they’ll work with. Say who you are, how long you’ve been doing this and what sets you apart, without empty phrases.

Contact

A short form, phone or WhatsApp, email and service area. If you have premises, add your address, hours and a map.

Privacy

If you collect details through a form or use analytics, explain what you do with that information. Requirements vary by country, so check which ones apply to your business.

What to add later

  • FAQs. They save repeated replies and answer real searches.
  • Guides or articles. They attract people who are still researching.
  • Location pages. Useful if you work in several cities and have something specific to say about each.

What every page needs

  • An easy-to-find contact button.
  • A headline that explains the topic.
  • A simple menu.
  • Comfortable reading on a phone.

How to tell if your site is complete

List the ten questions you get asked most. If the site doesn’t answer them, that’s what’s missing. You can also go through the 12-point checklist.

If your business is simple, you may not need all this: compare in landing page or full website? or see how we build websites.
